About Me

Space Inspired Art

My Story

Hi my name is Helen. I graduated a few years ago and obtained my degree in mechanical engineering. As I was finding myself in college, I learned that not everyone has it figured out. I never had any female role models in STEM growing up.

Initially I didn’t believe in myself to become an engineer. As I continued in my studies I learned that anything is possible with determination to become what you want as long as you work for it. Engineering was hard but I kept pushing myself and made it to the end.

My Specialty

As a part-time Latino artist, my heart finds joy in the act of creation, and my imagination takes flight through artworks inspired by the vast expanse of space and space exploration. Beyond colors and strokes, my purpose resonates deeply – I aspire to channel my passion into STEM, where the worlds of art and science intertwine.

Through my art, I seek to champion underrepresented minorities, particularly women and Latinos, bridging the gap between creativity and scientific exploration. Each piece I craft becomes a canvas that echoes the cosmic beauty of the universe and the resilience of those who strive to reach for the stars in fields where diversity deserves its rightful place. I want others to feel motivated through art to reach for the stars in their own life.
